Jacobs Industries Ltd. is a family-owned and -operated business serving Whitehorse, the Yukon, Western Northwest Territories and Northern British Columbia since 1943. We provide all types of welding and machining services, in addition to heavy equipment and automotive and general repairs. We are also one of the few companies north of Edmonton that manufactures oxygen, acetylene and compressed air gases, selling welding, medical and other commercial gases to the following sectors:

In the past, we have been involved in mining, truck and barge transportation, as well as aviation and construction sectors with oxygen and acetylene manufacturing plants in Inuvik, Yellowknife, and Whitehorse. No job is too large or too small for Jacobs Industries. We have repaired everything from sewing machines, cooking pots and cast-iron stoves to trailers, aircraft and 120-ton rock trucks, dozers and loaders – and everything in-between. JOURNEYMAN MACHINIST, WELDER/MECHANIC

Duration: Full-Time/Permanent

Location: Whitehorse, Yukon

JACOBS INDUSTRIES LIMITED is a Machining, Welding, and Hydraulic cylinder facility in Whitehorse, Yukon since 1944, currently employing 12-15 people. The applicant should be a journeyman machinist with several years of experience and be versatile on lathes, drill presses, milling machines, surface, and other grinders, honing machines, boring bar machines, and line boring. They should have several years of experience in repairing and rebuilding types of machining jobs.

 

Applicants for welders should be a journeyman, red seal or higher, or a journeyman mechanic.

 

Welding and mechanical experience and knowledge are an asset. Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering documents, and other drawings are necessary.


Driver's licence, First Aid, WHMIS, Safety, and TDG certificates are valued.

 

Applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada.


Salary: DOE starting at $35.00 per hour.
